The May monthly meeting of the Farming Township Board was called to order by Dan Stommes at 8:00 pm in the FCC Board Room. All members were present. Also present were Dale Lange, Patsy Zimmerman and Matt Schmitz. The flag pledge was said.
The April minutes were read. Dave Robertson made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
Duane Janssen gave a financial report with $320,226.78 in the checking account.
RE: Dustcoating – Only one quote for dustcoating was received. Central MN Dustcoating’s price was $.56/foot. Discussion was held. Jason Willenbring made a motion to accept the quote from Central MN dustcoating, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried. The Clerk will post notice for residents who would like dustcoating along their property to contact Supervisors by May 31, 2019.
RE: Blading – Lange Trenching presented a quote for blading Township roads. It was the only quote received. The price was $45.00 per mile – the same as last year. Discussion was held. Jason Willenbring made a motion to accept the quote from Lange Trenching, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Class 2 Road Material – One quote was received. Lange Trenching quoted a price of $18.25/ton, placed and packed – same as last year. Discussion was held. Jason Willenbring made a motion to accept the quote from Lange Trenching, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Class 5 Gravel – Wm. D. Scepaniak gave the only quote for Class 5 road material. The price was $10.49 – a raise from the 2018 price. Discussion was held. Dave Robertson made a motion to accept the quote from Scepaniak, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Road Ditch Cutting – Matt Schmitz submitted the only quote for road ditch cutting. The price was $65/hr plus fuel – a $5 raise from last year. Discussion was held. Jason Willenbring made a motion to accept the quote from Matt Schmitz, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried. Plans for road ditch cutting are around mid-June and before school starts, weather permitting.
RE: Pilgrims Pride – A request for permission to haul agricultural products over 80,000 up to 97,000 pounds gross weight on .28 miles of 275th Street and .50 miles of 260th Street – except during road restriction time – through May 2020 was presented. Discussion was held. Dave Robertson made a motion to approve and sign the request, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Crackfilling – Dan Stommes stated the crackfilling will be finished in May, weather permitting.
RE: Five Year Road Plan Meeting – Supervisors were notified that meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019.
RE: Albany Fifth Monday Meeting – Dan Stommes gave a report on the meeting. It was noted that the elementary school will be short of room in the fall. Several plans are being considered.
RE: Weed Meeting – Dave Robertson gave a short report on the Weed Meeting. They received reports on new noxious weeds and were given a spreadsheet showing their problem areas.

RE: Road Tour – Extensive Discussion was held with the blading and dustcoating contractors on which roads will be dustcoated, graveled or have Class 2 applied as determined as a result of the Road Tour. RE: Election Procedure Changes – Dave Walz and Roxanne Gerads were present from Stearns County to explain the options regarding the elimination of the paper rosters for elections. Options are either mail ballots or E Poll books. Discussion was held. They asked that we have a decision before the end of summer.
RE: Farming Baseball Association – Dan Rea presented an application for an On-sale 3.2% Malt Liquor License for the Farming Athletic Field from April 13, 2019 through October 12, 2019. Discussion was held. Jason Willenbring made a motion to approve the application, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Backes Plat – Bob Backes presented his final plat to the Board. Discussion was held. Dave Robertson made a motion to approve the plat, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried. Jason Willenbring made a motion to authorize Dewey Klaphake, Zoning Administrator, to sign the plat when Backes contacted him, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Trappers Pub and Grub – A request was made for Township Consent to authorize a County On/Off Sale Intoxicating Liquor License for Trappers Pub and Grub from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Discussion was held. Jason Willenbring made a motion to approve the application, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Hildebrande Trucking LLC – A request for permission to service farms and drive on Township roads during road restriction season was received from Hildebrande Trucking (dead animal service). Discussion was held. Dan Stommes made a motion to sign the permission form, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: DOT Maps – Discussion was held. It was decided to order 12 maps of Farming Township.
RE: Stearns Bank Checking Account – Discussion was held. Jason Willenbring made a motion to remove Dave Robertson as a signer on the checking account and to have Chairperson Dan Stommes, Clerk Judy Bruemmer, Treasurer Duane Janssen and Deputy Clerk Bonnie Behnen as signers on the checking account, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Road Tour – Road Tour Issues were discussed. Water on Mapleview South will be checked into. Maintenance and road issues will be discussed at the May Board Meeting.

Dustcoating will be done on Farming Township Roads this Spring. If you are interested in having dustcoating done along your property please contact one of the Township Supervisors before May 31, 2019.

The December monthly meeting of the Farming Township Board was called to order by Dave Robertson at 8:00 pm. The flag pledge was said. All members were present. Also present were Dewey Klaphake and Marlene Statz.
The November minutes were read. Dan Stommes made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried.

RE: Lion’s Gambling License – Marlene Statz presented an application for approval of a gambling permit for the Lion’s Club spring raffle. Discussion was held. Dan Stommes made a motion to approve the application, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: 307th St. Fire – Dan Stommes reported that the Albany Fire Department contacted him concerning the lack of a street sign on 307th Street. Discussion was held. As 307th is not a township road, Dan Stommes will contact the county as to our responsibilities regarding the sign and Dave Robertson will contact the Township Association attorney about it and any assumed responsibilities if we put up a sign.
RE: Crackfilling – Dan Stommes stated that the patches on 223rd were done and as much crackfilling was done as possible.
RE: Polling Place Resolution #1218 – Dan Stommes made a motion to designate the Farming Community Center as the official polling place for Farming Township elections, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: January Meeting – Due to the New Year’s holiday it was decided to change the January meeting to Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the usual time and place. The Clerk will publish and post the notice.
RE: Zoning – Dewey Klaphake gave a short report on zoning.
RE: COL Budget Meeting – A reminder was given that the COL Budget Meeting will be held on December 10, 2018. The Clerk will post the notice.
RE: Board of Equalization – The Clerk reminded the Supervisors that should Dave Robertson not run for re-election or should not win that we would not have anyone on the Board qualified for the Board of Equalization. The Supervisors will check on available training.

RE: Tarring Fund CDs – Duane Janssen reported that several CDs were coming due in December. He asked if the Board wanted to combine the CDs in order to receive more interest. Discussion was held. Dan Stommes made a motion to combine the CDs, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: Snowplowing Quotes – Only one quote was received by phone call – from Sunny Brook Enterprises Inc. He stated that the prices and guarantees would be the same as last year. Discussion was held. Dan Stommes made a motion to accept the quote from Sunny Brook Enterprises, Dave Robertson seconded. All in favor, motion carried. (Last year’s quote was for $110/hr, $90/yd for salt and sand, $5/hr increase if fuel over $4/gal, and guarantee for $700 for the months of December, January, February and March)
RE: Crackfilling – Dan Stommes reported that some crackfilling was finished but that the rainy weather has caused problems. He will contact the contractor to check on the progress.
Fifth Lake Road Culvert – Dale Lange reported that the culvert has been repaired.
Kriegle Lake Road – It was reported that the inspection is finished and Collegeville Township will be sending an invoice for Farming Townships share.
RE: District Township Meeting – Dave Robertson attended the meeting and gave a short report.
RE: Albany School Board Meeting – Dan Stommes attended the meeting and gave a short report.
RE: General Election – Judy Bruemmer stated that all went well at the election. 405 voters voted in the precinct and 28 voters voted absentee ballots.

The September Monthly Board Meeting of Farming Township was called to order by Dave Robertson at 8:00 pm. The flag pledge was said. All members were present. Also present were Math Schmitz, Dale Lange, John Blenker and Dewey Klaphake.
The August minutes were read. Dan Stommes made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Jason Willenbring seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
Duane Janssen gave a financial report with $374,822.52 in checking.
RE: Kriegle Lake Road – Jason Willenbring reported that the road is finished and Collegeville Township will send a bill.
RE: Dustcoating – Dave Robertson reported that he met with the dustcoating contractor. The same formula was used as in other years and they drove the roads. All seemed to be OK. Discussion was held. It was thought the excessive rain may have made some difference.
RE: Crackfilling – Dan Stommes reported that crackfilling will be done in October.
RE: Culvert Issues – Culverts on Clear Lake Road and Fifth Lake Road South will be checked into.
RE: Road Report/Website – Dewey Klaphake presented the updated Road Report to the Board and stated that he has added the security package to the Township website.
RE: District Meeting – The Supervisors and the Treasurer attended the District Meeting. They gave a short report.
RE: Primary Election – Judy Bruemmer gave a report on the election. They had some problems with the new ballot counting machine, had to get another counting machine and had problems transmitting results to the County. She asked the Board to give the Head Judge a raise of $1 as she is responsible when the Clerk is not there. Discussion was held. Dave Robertson made a motion to raise the Head Judges wage to $13.50 when she is serving as Head Judge, Dan Stommes seconded. All in favor, motion carried.
RE: November Board Meeting – As the General Election falls on our Board Meeting night it was decided to change the November meeting to Thursday, November 8, 2018. The Clerk will publish and post the notice.
